Crest Secondary School has undergone a remarkable transformation to its school hall into a theatrette, elevating the overall visual. As part of the upgrade, the school has shifted away from the traditional lamp-based tungsten stage lighting system to LED stage lighting fixtures which are well-known for energy efficiency and savings. The brand new LED stage system features ADMC RGBW wall washers, PARs moving heads and Antari haze machine expanding the possibilities for innovative and visually engaging performances.

To streamline control and ensure a user-friendly experience for students, ETC ColorSource Console 20AV has been selected for the setup. This featured-packed compact sized console boasts a 7-inch touchscreen and 20 faders making it exceptionally easy to learn and operate, thereby empowering students to take full advantage of the advanced lighting capabilities at their disposal.

In lieu of a safer workplace, Lasalle SIA Theatre has replaced part of their motorised fly system to ETC Prodigy Flypipe system.

Since a few years ago, Lasalle has started to experience problems in their motorised flybars system which were made up of multiple chain hoists supporting a long connecting truss. Some common problems that many venues faced on such similar system will be the levelling issues, absence of a proper travel limits and overload detection. As a result, truss started to sag over time, chain hoists wearing out at different phases and giving erratic problems which the venue operators have to spent valuable manpower and cost just to trouble-shoot.

ETC Prodigy Flypipe system were selected due to the high safety standards and sleek looking pipe design. It uses a fail-safe motor brake and safestop secondary load arrest to ensure safe overhead operations. In addition, the inbuilt 4 nos. limits switches, overcurrent protection, over-load and under-load protection are what the current fly system do not offers.

A total of 4 sets Prodigy Flypipe system were replaced. 2 sets at the stage left & right meant for German curtains and the other 2 sets at the back of the stage behind the cyclorama. All 4 sets Prodigy Flypipe are controlled by the ETC QuickTouch Controller.

As the demand for Live Streaming and Broadcasting activities increases, BCA Academy has upgraded their Auditorium lighting system to keep up with the present needs.

Different outputs of Quartzcolor X-series LED Studio Fresnel Spotlights and TGL Lukas LED Soft Panels are installed. They are strategically positioned on new lighting bars installed above the stage floor and Front-of-House. All fixtures are of Variable CCT. As such, user can decide to record in the native warm tungsten setting or the cooler daylight setting. This setting can be easily adjust at the touch of the user-friendly ETC Colorsource console in the control room. Furthermore, an ETC EchoTouch remote controller located at the stage floor allow user to access pre-programmed light setting without having to access the main lighting controller in the control room.

In a recording studio where precise lighting positions and focusing are of utmost important, all studio fixtures installed are fixed with Pole Operated Yokes. This allow user to adjust the fixture angle and focusing easily without the use of any ladder or staging.

Our scope is a full replacement to their existing draperies on stage and all entrances into the hall. Client has specially requested for the colour of the new curtains to match their existing curtains in order to preserve the colour scheme within the hall. As such, a sample part of the existing curtains was cut off and flown to the factory located in UK to kick-start the custom dye process.

There were also other challenges faced in the course of work. There were limited and restricted access to reach the fixed tracks 15m high up above the stage and bringing up a piece of curtain weighing more than 250 kg will need careful and extensive planning before work commencement.

Provided system includes the Hall Stage Motorized Track, J&C Joel Coliseum Velvet as Bi-parting main curtains.

Other than that, we also provided 4 pairs of J&C Joel Wool Serge dress legs and J&C Joel Wool Serge blackout masking drapes for the LED wall.

The current Sound Stage is built many years ago with a fixed pipegrid at a height of 7.5m. It is almost impossible for the lecturers and students to fully utilize this space for their production. In this upgrade, the school has specified for further enhancement to the existing infrastructure including motorised lighting bars and a mobile tour rack.

12sets of IFF ACTA 20 linear lift hoists are equally distributed in the Sound Stage. They are fully designed and made in Italy meeting all European safety standards such as overload, no-load safety sensors, excessive tilting, etc. Hoists braking design is by self-sustaining fail-safe worm gear. No brake pad or clutch mechanism is involved. All hoists installed are equipped with inverters for its soft-start and soft-stop capability.

Each lighting bar is equipped with 1 XLR 5pin outlet DMXand 4 power socket outlets, patched to both dimming & direct points. Each hoist is capable of lifting load up to 120kg.

IFF SM select controller is mounted at the side for visible and convenient access. The key switch, “dead man” features, emergency stop button and LED indicators are to ensure 100% safety in whole system. A plug-in hand-held hoist wired remote controller allows the user to control the hoists remotely at almost every corner of the space.

We have also introduced a purpose-built mobile rack which housed the hybrid dimmers, circuit-breakers, DMX splitter and lighting console for the lighting bars.

With the above upgrading, students can fully utilise the space and learn more.

AVLite was previously involved in Production Studio lighting system in both ITE College East and ITE College West. In the year 2020, the new Multi-Cam Studio in ITE College Central is open to Nitec in Video Production. We are again, extremely honoured to be involved!

It’s the first 4K studio in ITE having full LED Studio Lighting fixtures with adjustable colour temperature and RGB Cyclorama fixtures.

All fixtures involved were selected and specified by ITE lecturers due to their excellent output, performances and reliability. QUARTZCOLOR X-series plus LED Fresnel, fully designed and manufactured in Italy, was used as Key and Backlights. The Korean made TGL LED panel lights as softlights and ETC Colorsource CYC as colour-changing Cyclorama lights. It’s a smart choice as all lightings above were widely in use locally such as Mediacorp Studios, Nanyang Polytechnic Media Studio, Temasek Polytechnic MOI Studio, Singapore Institute of Technology Gener8 Media Studio, Home Team Academy Recording Studio, Ngee Ann Polytechnic FMS TV1 & TV2, etc.

In order to add creativity for their students, the lecturers have added in an LED moving light; ROBE VIVA CMY. This model was selected by the lecturer due to its power-pack features in an elegant and lightweight housing.  It is also equipped with selectable fan speeds to meet the studio recording requirement. Moreover, the small & compact size make it a clear choice for the studio.

ETC Colorsource 40 console was selected for its compactness, and most importantly, it’s easy to learn! It can control up to a maximum of 80 devices, up to a single DMX universe.

With the above state-of-the-arts equipment integrated, we believe their students will be having the most benefits.

Singapore American School has added much excitement and creativity to their existing Auditorium!

Client has specifically selected the Chroma-Q Inspire LED RGBW fixtures working hand in hand with ETC Unison Paradigm architectural dimming and control system.

A total of 45 nos. of Chroma-Q Inspire RGBW LED fixtures were installed, with the furthest throw distance of 10m from the catwalk. A 24-channel ETC Unison Paradigm dimmer rack, along with 12 nos. of Heritage button stations and 2 nos. of 7” Paradigm touchscreen had also been installed. The more than 20-years old problematic control cabling had been completely ripped off giving way to the new Belden control cabling.

With the flexibility of ETC Paradigm architectural control system, we are able to fulfil client’s request of the lighting program. Varies combination of RGB colours can be easily selected and stored at the touchscreen stations located in the stage manager console and control room. Different colours of LED indicators had been programmed at the heritage button stations to indicate the different lighting colour scenes programmed. User can also control the entire Paradigm architectural system from their ETC GIO lighting console in the control room.

With this upgrade, the new concept of lighting up the Auditorium has finally come true!

AVLite was originally involved in the first construction of the HTA recording studio in year 2006. We were very excited & honoured to be able to get involved in the studio lighting upgrading project 13 years later!

The original conventional studio lighting system has given its way to LED studio lighting system, reducing the carbon footprint. At the same time, production crews will have more options to consider in their productions. The LED lightings installed were of variable CCT. Productions can now be carried out either in Daylight CCT or the warmer Tungsten CCT. RGBW CYC lights were installed to replace the previous fluorescent soft CYC lights. Production crew can now utilise the RGBW CYC light to create interesting backdrop lighting effects in their production!

Situated within Singapore Institute of Technology’s library, the Media Studio is a very compact, yet multi-purpose TV studio. The studio lighting system is specially designed to cover all corners of the TV studio. The U-shaped backdrop curtain system allow the user to have their main set for interview, talk show, etc. While the pulley-operated paper background system allow a smaller 1-person shot.

User also has a choice of shooting in tungsten or daylight scene thanks to QuartzColor X-series Plus Bi-color fixtures and TGL LED panels supplied. In addition, RGB colour mixing effects can also be achieved with the usage of ETC ColorSource PAR and ColorSource CYC lights!

The ETC ColorSource AV lighting console allow the user to control the lighting system wirelessly via phone or tablet through the Amigo built into the lighting console.
